The Maui Annexation Club.
To night the Mani Annexation Club whieh so far has carried on a ver\- precarioosexistenoe hoklīi a raeeting at the Court Honse in * Wailnku, at whieh it is hoped that Deputy-ColIector F. MaeStocker, who is ou Maui, presum-ablw-on business wili be ab!e to infuse new iife ia the tlving organization. It is a!so hopetl that he will be able to infuse new “dollars - ’ into the clnb so as to enable this “wealthy’ aml “intelligent" organization to pay the poor Chinaman who catered for the snpper at the annexation ball on the 4th of July in the I Wailnku Skating Hink. The members of the Club, we are informed, elaim that there were ample fuuds subscribed to cover all expeuses, and the Committee elaim that all the mouey was expended, but show no subscription list or vouchers. There are other bills iu conuection with this ; same ball whieh are still uuI paid so it is hoped that Mr, j MeStocker will be able to devise some means where with all ciaims i eau be satisfied besides recoramending John Kalua to agoveru- ! meut job. Poor Johu, bv the I way, is too well knowu to our i rulers to be iaken into considerj ation even if the Star does plead ! for him.
