KOA WOOD FOR THE COAST.

S. N. Castle Will Take Big Deckload of Hawaiian Hard Wood. The barkentine s. N. Castle is on the berth for San Francisco, and will probably sail by the,end of the week. Resides her usual load of sugar, she will c arry something of a novelty in the shape- of Hawaiian wood. About seven tons of it is lielng put on hoard the vessel. The wood, which is all koa. is to be made into furniture. calabashes and other articles. The exportation of Hawaiian wood is practically a new industry. The fame artd beauty of the koa has

1 reached the coast, and an enterpris--1 fng manufacturer has decided to try it as as experiment. The big logs will take all the spare room on deck and wifi be solidly lashed. They came recently from Hawaii on one of the steamers.
