Molokai Church Sets July 12 Fundraiser

A benefit fundraising luau to help tiny Waialua Congregational Church of Molokai get a new church building and its own kahu is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall. The time is 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. For a $12.50 donation, those who attend will enjoy fabulous Hawaiian food and home-grown entertainment from the island of Molokai. Tickets are available at the door or by calling Lynette Lum, 261-9197, or Pearline Madrona, 531-5582. The church was establishd in 1865 and is a member of the Hawaii Conference United Church of Christ. It has a small but viable congregation of different ethnic groups and is striving to one day being self-sufficient.
