Dream House Possible Through OSHHC Program
Hawaiian homestead families who received leases in the Waianae Kai subdivision in Lualualei will be participating in a team self-help housing project where a three-bedroom, one and one-half bath double-walled house will cost just $30,000. This is being made possible through the Oahu SelfHelp Housing Corporation for those families participating in the project. Eaeh family contributes 32 hours of labor a week and helps eaeh other build the houses as a team.
A supervisor hired by the sponsoring corporation teaches the families all the skills necessary to build the houses. This "sweat equity" saves about 50 percent of the cost of the hosue. Imagine being able to build your dream house for just $30,000. Interested? Call Claudia at OSHHC, telephone 545-4133 and get the full details.
