The last three of Gardner Brown's six children were paddlers with two of the girls also excelling in volleyball and the youngest, Paul, starred as a pitcher for the University of Hawaii Rainbows baseball team before being drafted by the Boston Red Sox of the American League. Nahaku Brown, 1978graduateof Kamehameha, was a UH Rainbow Wahine volleyball standout who was named an NCAA All-American. Adele was also an outstanding volleyball player at Roosevelt where she graduated in 1979. Nahaku is now women's volleyball eoaeh and assistant to the athletic director at Hawaii Pacific College. Paul Brown is a 1982 Kaiser High Schooi graduate, the same school whieh produced New York Mets pitcher Sid Fernandez. Brown is currently in the Red Sox farm system. Gardner Brown's three eldest children are Gardner Alihikauaokalani, Tanna Mahealanikeola and Louise Kekaikahealani.
