26 Hawaiians Have Public Health Degrees
The University of Hawaii's School of Public Health has a special commitment to assist Hawaiians in achieving their goals in graduateeducation. The school offers Master and Doctoral degree programs in a wide variety of public health specialization. Since 1979 when the Heahh Careers Educational Opportunities Program was established, 26 Hawaiians have graduated with master's degrees in the public health field. There are seven in the current class at UH Manoa. The program is geared to assist minority groups in the public health field and over 50 percent of the enrolled students are minorities.
