UH alumni honors three Hawaiians
Three Hawaiians were recipients of the University of Hawai'i Distinguished Alumni Awards at the UHAA annual dinner Friday, April 27. Eaeh was honored as a continuing role model and for their personal achievements. Thomas K. Kaulukukui Sr. was given the Senior Emissary Alumni award for more than 50 years of demonstrated commitment and continuing active involvement to the university and the community. "Unele Tommy" is a graduate of UH-Manoa with a master's in physical education. He is a veteran of World War II and chairs the board of trustees of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. Momi W. Cazimero was honored with the Outstanding Community Service Award for outstanding service to the university, for her leadership in
the community and as a role model. She is a graduate of UH-Manoa with a degree in fine arts. She is president of Graphic House.
Madeline Ann Lolani Ehia was honored as a UHManoa graduate who demonstrates the professional promise of recent graduates. Ehia received her occupational therapy training at Kapiolani Community College in 1979, took business administration at UH-West O'ahu in 1989 and received her master's in Public Health at UH-Manoa in 1989. Also honored at the banquet were Donald C. W. Kim and James Morita as distinguished alumni, Andre S. Tatibouet and Joyce S. Tsunoda for outstanding community service, and Dorothy I. Matsuo and Stanton Ho as junior alumna. The UH founders' lifetime achievement awards went to Mark Y. Murakami (1934) and Edna T. Taufaasau (1937).
