The Queen Lili'uokalani Connmemorative Ceremony will take placerom 6:30-8 p.m. Jan. 17 at Kawaiahao.
Ihis sixteenth annual commemorative ceremony honors Queen Lili'uokalani, Hawaii's last reigning monarchy. The program is sponsored by the Council of Hawaiian Organizations. The events of Jan. 17, 1893 created the theme for 1992, "Today, An Affirmation Of The Leqacy." The spirit of Hawaii's beloved
Queen Lili'uokalani, who shunned bloodshed and trusted in a spiritual promise, is an enduring legacy of aloha that marks her people as special children of these Islands. This is an open invitation to all. Bring a ho'okupu. A torchlight procession from Kawaiahao Church to King Kamehameha statue to Queen Lili'uokalani statue will follow the service at Kawaiahao Church.
