There was an error in the Timeline of Hawaiian History whieh appeared in the January Ka Wai Ola O OHA. We reported that in 1949 Hawai'i had been put on a United Nations list of territories to be restored to independence and that the United States had lobbied to take Hawai'i off. ln fact, Hawai'i was put on such a list in 1946, according to P6kā Laenui. In 1959, the United States reported that in a plebescite to "exercise self-determination," Hawai'i had "chosen" statehood and the U.N. released Hawai'i from further reporting on progress to independence.
