Hālau openings

Kumu hula Kaha'i Topolinski is accepting students to the new 'ōlapa and 'auana classes that he's opening within his hālau, Ka Pā Hula Hawai'i. Interested men and women, 14 years and older, should register on Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Nu'uanu Elementary School. Classes begin Sept. 9. Topolinski also conducts feather-crafting classes, whieh will run through November. Lei hulu and kāhili classes are held at Bishop Museum on Monday, 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.; 'aha'ula classes at the same time on Thursday. For information, eall 695-8942.
