Pukuʻi Scholarship Deadline is July 15

Application deadline for the Mary Kawena Puku'i scholarship award is Friday, July 15. The award was established to recognize Hawaiian scholarship among graduate students at the University of Hawai'i. The eligibility requirement is that an applicant be a full time graduate student at Manoa pursuing advanced studies or research whieh includes within its scope work with the Hawaiian language and culture. Ethnicity, race or gender are not qualifications for the award whieh is $2,000 per academic year. Along with the application form, these items must also be submitted: • Three letters of reference.

• Official grade transcripts from eaeh college or university attended, including UH. • Evidence of admission to graduate school as a classified student in a specific discipline or program. • One page synopsis of thesis topic. Portion of work devoted to Hawaiian language and culture. • Financial aid form on file at UHM Financial Aids Office.
