Kids at risk seminar

The Second Annual Conference of the Elementary School Center (ESC) - Hawai'i entitled, "Children in a World at Risk," will be held on Dec. 8-10, at the Ramada Renaissance Ala Moana Hotel. The purpose of the conference is to examine the" role that schools and community-at-large play in addressing the needs and rights of ail children. The featured speaker will be Dr. Melvin Levine, director of the Clinical Center for the Study of Development and Learning at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He will discuss various patterns of learning, behavior and social interaction that reflected developmental variations among children. Educators, health-care professionals, parents, social workers and advocates for children are invited to attend the conference.
