Hundreds gathered in front of Ali'iōlani Hale in Honolulu to honor King Kamehameha with a lei draping ceremony, including representatives from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, who participated in cultural protocols and presented a lei made of Pala'ō ferns. The June 1 0 ceremony was part of the 1 44th annual King Kamehameha Celebration, whieh also included events and floral parades on several islands.
